The First Annual AAE End of Year Banquet, hosted by Sigma Gamma Tau, was held Wednesday, April 21st to get all the members of the department together and recognize those that have had made major accomplishments throughout the past year

Professor Li Qiao and her Ph.D. student Yanan Gan won the Second Place Prize for the 2010 Combustion Art Competition of the Combustion Institute for their work "Flame, Gone with Butterfly."

Professor Li Qiao has received the Army Research Office (ARO) Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award for her proposal "Ignition and Burning Behavior of Fuel Droplets with Energetic Nanoparticle Addition."

Dean Bryson, a Masters Student under Dr. Terry Weisshaar, graduating this May, presented "Aeroelastic Optimization of a Two-Dimensional Flapping Mechanism" to claim the Best Paper Award.

Presented annually to an Outstanding Teacher in the Purdue University School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, selected by the undergraduate student body for excellence in teaching and made possible by the interest and generosity of friends and alumni of the school.

The 14th annual AIAA Cessna/Raytheon Missile Systems Student Design/Build/Fly Competition was held this past weekend in Wichita Kansas, hosting 69 teams.

US News & World Report has released this year's national rankings of best engineering graduate programs.
