Purdue alumni Dan Dumbacher and John Gedmark will share their insights into the future of space exploration during the 2009 Purdue Spring Space Forum at 7:00 p.m. April 24 in the atrium of the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering.

Andrew Damon, an AAE student from Indianapolis, received the $1,000 Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts for an outstanding senior who has demonstrated excellence and the highest standards of proficiency in the visual or performing arts.

C.T. Sun will receive the inaugural AIAA-ASC James H. Starnes, Jr. Award at an awards luncheon May 6, as part of the 50th AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference, held May 4-7, 2009, in Palm Springs, CA.

A team of researchers, including AAE Professor Timothée Pourpoint, has developed a critical part of a hydrogen storage system for cars that makes it possible to fill up a vehicle's fuel tank within five minutes with enough hydrogen to drive 300 miles.

Tim Duquette is an AAE senior graduating in December of 2009. He is focusing in astronautics and specializing in propulsion and design.

Christine Troy, a graduating senior in A&AE at Purdue, is honored to be recognized as the local Sigma Gamma Tau Outstanding Senior. She has also won the Great Lakes Regional Award given by the SGT National Headquarters.

Steve Schneider, AAE Professor, helped shape plans to install a new experiment currently on the space shuttle Discovery to collect data for controlling deadly friction and heating in the design of future spacecraft.
