Welcome to new faculty member - Dr. Li Qiao

The School of Aeronautics & Astronautics welcomes new faculty member Dr. Li Qiao. She joins the school as Assistant Professor in the propulsion group beginning in the fall of 2007. She comes to us from the University of Michigan where she completed her Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering in February 2007.

Purdue Students Finish Third in AIAA Design/Build/Fly Competition

Since 2004, students from Purdue University have competed in the annual AIAA Design, Build, and Fly competition. During this, the 2006/2007 and eleventh year of the contest, the team of students representing Purdue placed 3rd out of 49 teams from universities around the world. This year's competition was hosted in Tucson, Arizona by Raytheon Missile Systems.

The Faculty Awards of Excellence was initiated in 2002 to honor outstanding faculty. The Award recognizes, encourages and promotes outstanding contributions of faculty within the College of Engineering. Two AAE professors were among those honored.

Startups, including one with AAE alum as CEO, win chance to meet with venture capital firms

James Mann, chief executive officer and founder of M4 Sciences Corp., shows off the prototype of a high-precision device that he has developed at the Michael Golden Laboratory in Purdue's School of Industrial Engineering. M4 Sciences, along with two other Indiana startups, now will have the opportunity to meet with venture capital firms in Silicon Valley.

50th Anniversary - Classes of 1956 and 1957

To commemorate the occasion of the 50th Anniversary, the
Classes of 1956 and 1957 will undertake a joint class gift project that will ensure that these two great classes will forever have a place in the changing face of Purdue University.
