AAE PhD students receive 2016 Bilsland Dissertation Fellowships

PhD candidates Sergii Kravchenko and Cheolhyeon Kwon have received the 2016 Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship Award, which is awarded to outstanding PhD candidates in their final year of doctoral degree completion.

PhD candidates Sergii Kravchenko and Cheolhyeon Kwon have received the 2016 Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship Award. It is awarded to outstanding Ph.D. candidates in their final year of doctoral degree completion. The Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship is highly competitive and recognizes the students' superior academic abilities and scholarly achievements.

Sergii Kravchenko is a student of Dr. Byron Pipes. The title of his dissertation is “Progressive Failure Analysis of A Platelet-stacked Material System.”

Cheolhyeon Kwon is a student of Dr. Inseok Hwang. The title of his dissertation is “Secure and High Assurance Control of Networked Cyber-Physical Systems with Application to Unmanned Aircraft Systems.” His research seeks to mitigate the threat of cyber-attacks on CPSs, especially in unmanned aircraft system applications.
