The Chappelle Fellowship is a highly competitive and prestigious award which encourages Purdue alumni to pursue graduate research at Purdue. Chappelle Fellows are selected on the basis of character, intellectual ability, and promise of degree attainment.

Goggin says it is an honor to receive the Fellowship.

“I am forever grateful to all of those who have supported me over the last four years,” he says. “Especially the other incredibly talented and hard working students, faculty and staff in Purdue AAE that have had such a huge impact on my life.”

Goggin has accepted the Fellowship. He will earn his BSAAE this May and then pursue his MSAAE at Purdue working with Prof. David Spencer in the Space Flight Projects Laboratory (SFPL). He is currently conducting undergraduate research on automated proximity operations for Mars Sample Return under a contract with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
