AAE student Chao Han receives CoE Outstanding Research Award

AAE graduate student Chao Han is a 2017 recipient of the Award for Outstanding Research from Purdue’s College of Engineering. This award goes to students who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in research through publications, participation in professional organizations, and willingness to mentor others. Han is a student of Professor Haifeng Wang.

"I am greatly honored to receive this prestigious award,” says Han. ”I want to take this opportunity to express my thanks to my advisor Prof. Haifeng Wang for his patient guidance not only on how to conduct decent research but also on how to be a good thinker."

Han’s research is focused on developing predictive models for turbulent combustion, which ultimately will help the improvement of design of combustors found in applications such as automobile engines.

Han received his award at a banquet on April 19th.
