Birthplace: New Delhi, India

AAE Major/Minor Concentration: Dynamics and Controls, Design

Student Classification: Senior

Name and location of company/organization where you are a co-op student/intern: Greenlee, Textron at Rockford, IL

Tell me about your job duties: Design Engineering Intern: Working on updating existing part design files, coming up with a test fixture idea to test Greenlee's products. Working with a team of engineers on new product design.

Why did you want to do this co-op/internship? Textron is an amazing company and their internship program is known to provide valuable engineering experience to future engineers. This internship will help me prepare for full-time work for when I graduate next year.

What do you hope to gain from the experience? I hope to learn about real world engineering practices and to gain hands-on engineering experience. Over the course of this 12 week internship, I also hope to identify my strengths and weaknesses and improve on the same.

Have you done other co-ops/internships as an AAE student? If yes, tell me a little about them: Last summer, I worked at the Institute of Space Systems in Braunschweig, Germany as a visiting student researcher. My project involved simulating satellite de-tumbling operations for active debris removal and satellite servicing missions. I also conducted systems integration tests for a nanosatellite kit, learning about the operation and functions of various subsystems of a cubesat.

What are you ultimate career goals? I want to end up working in the space industry. I will get my masters in astronautics at some point as well.
