Two members of the AAE faculty, Profs. Li Qiao and Steven Son, have been named Class of 2018 Associate Fellows by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Dr. Qiao, an associate professor, and Dr. Son, a professor of mechanical engineering with a courtesy faculty appointment in AAE, were chosen for their accomplishments and leadership in the global aerospace community.

To be selected as an Associate Fellow, an individual must be an AIAA Senior Member in good standing, with at least twelve years professional experience, and be recommended by a minimum of three current Associate Fellows.
