William Kellerhals (BS ’19) received a scholarship from the Purdue Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) to recognize his work with Professor Vikas Tomar.

Kellerhals’ research focus is in structural analysis. Specifically, he looks at the influences of dynamic impact on lithium-ion battery behavior.

“I’m honored and excited to receive the OUR scholarship,” says Kellerhals, who is also a member of the Navy ROTC. “The scholarship program includes invaluable support from the Office of Undergraduate Research. That support is in the form of research seminars, financial support and a platform to present our research findings. All of which will help our team immensely.”

OUR provides support to students and research mentors to promote and expand research experiences for undergraduate students. One initiative of OUR is through the OUR Scholars scholarship program, providing campus-wide financial aid support to undergraduate researchers. The scholarship application for the 2018-19 academic year will be available late February 2018.
