Why I chose Purdue Civil and Construction Engineering

I’ve had a strong interest in science and engineering practically all my life. I started to become more and more interested in engineering — specifically civil engineering — the more I learned about how impactful it was to our world and its future. When looking for where to study, I knew Purdue University had an incredible engineering program, and after learning more about the university, the more confident I became that this was the place for me.

Emphasis area

My emphasis area is in hydrologic engineering. I’m really interested in stormwater engineering and how it impacts practically every facet of city and structure planning.

In addition to pursuing her Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Ally is also minoring in dance.

Dance minor

In addition to earning my civil engineering degree, I am also minoring in dance here at Purdue. It was also another reason why I chose to come here. Not many other universities have a top tier civil engineering program as well as a strong art program.

After I graduate

After I graduate, I plan to enter the career field as a civil engineer. I look forward to taking what I have learned here at Purdue and applying it to my career.
