2019 Mi-Bio Summit to host experts in intrinsically-stretchable bioelectronics

The 2019 Mi-Bio Summit on Flexible and Stretchable Bioelectronics will be held on July 29-31 in West Lafayette on the Purdue University campus. During the 3-day event, conference attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the emerging field of intrinsically-stretchable bioelectronics in order to bridge from the design of materials through clinical applications.

The Mi-Bio Summit will feature 16 invited speakers from academia, industry, and clinical arenas during five sessions. Registration for the Summit can be completed here. The cost is $100 for Professionals and $25 for Students and Postdoctoral Researchers, and includes breakfast and lunch on Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday, July 31, and the conference dinner on Tuesday evening.

Dr. Bryan Boudouris, the Robert and Sally Weist Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, says that the Mi-Bio Summit will provide attendees an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in soft materials design.

“The world-leading speakers that are scheduled to present, come from a myriad of disciplines from across the globe,” explains Boudouris. “These sessions will allow Mi-Bio Summit attendees to delve deeply into an emerging field in a cross-disciplinary, yet intimate, environment. In doing so, we anticipate that Mi-Bio Summit attendees will walk away with leading-edge knowledge in flexible and stretchable bioelectronics.”

The Summit will open on Monday, July 29 with Session 1: Translational Considerations in Bioelectronics, featuring Michael Cima and Anne Andrews, among others.

Tuesday, July 30 will include three sessions. Session 2: Materials and Biological Design, with Jong-Hyun Ahn, Younan Xia, Bozhi Tian, and Michael McAlpine. Session 3: Device Physics will feature Antonio Facchetti and Yan Feng. Session 4 will be an invited research Poster Session and the conference dinner, featuring Professor Jessica Huber, the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Purdue University.

Session 5: Clinical Applications will be held on Wednesday, July 31. Talks will be given by Pete Kollbaum and Marvin Slepian, as well as Georgia Malandraki.
