How can we tackle the world's most pressing problems?
Effective Altruism Purdue helps students answer this question and figure out how to do the most good with our lives and careers – by introducing the ideas of Effective Altruism: Combining empathy and evidence to find the best opportunities for improving the world.
Our callout will be on Friday, September 5 in WALC B066 at 7:00 PM. We will have pizza and play a discussion-based game.
From the Effective Altruism Club Co-President:
We’re the Purdue chapter of the global Effective Altruism movement, which applies evidence-based reasoning to career planning and impact. Every week, we host thought-provoking discussions on how to do the most good. We also connect driven students with fellowships, projects, and career guidance.
From improving satellite technology that monitors climate change to advancing space systems that could reduce existential risks, aerospace engineers can directly contribute to safeguarding humanity’s future. Students in this field have the tools to address some of the largest-scale challenges imaginable.
