Congratulations to the many students acknowledged during the 2022-2023 School of Nuclear Engineering Recognition Seminar!

Purdue University’s Board of Trustees approved two School of Nuclear Engineering faculty members for promotion to Full Professor on Friday April 14th, 2023.

The completion and opening of Purdue’s new Gateway Complex building, Dudley and Lambertus Halls, marked a momentous occasion for both Purdue University and the namesakes Bill and Marty Dudley and Peter and Ann Lambertus. On April 14th, 2023, hundreds of students, faculty, staff, and guests gathered to witness the building’s dedication that was followed by a reception and self-guided tours.

Purdue University and Duke Energy on Thursday reported excellent progress on the exploration into the feasibility of using advanced nuclear energy technology to meet the long-term energy needs of the Purdue West Lafayette campus, with plans to release their findings on this portion of the project in the coming weeks.

The model predicts unplanned shutdowns, which can help reduce operations and maintenance costs.

Congratulations to Brian Jowers, Teresa Luse and Kellie Reece recipients of the Bravo Award. The Bravo Award was presented by Dr. Seungjin Kim and is presented for excellent achievement.

Congratulations Darrell Cheu! Dr. Seungjin Kim presented Darrell with the NE Graduate Recognition Seminar Award. Darrell was recognized for his outstanding research accomplishments and scholarly engagement.

Travis Crawford, a PhD candidate at Purdue University's School of Nuclear Engineering, has been awarded his second Directed Energy Professional Society (DEPS) graduate research grant.

Congrats to Tyler Lewis for having his research discussed in the university's latest edition of the research magazine, InnovatED. Tyler has been working with Professor Abdel-Khalik and several students, including undergraduate Chloe Yoder. Check out their efforts into Information Privacy!
