Congratulations to MSTP MD/PhD student Andrew Sivaprakasam for successfully defending his PhD dissertation, “Place and Time Processing of Pitch in the Context of Cochlear Dysfunction”!

Join us for the PhD defense of Andrew Sivaprakasam, a doctoral candidate in Biomedical Engineering, co-advised by Dr. Michael Heinz and Dr. Hari Bharadwaj. Andrew will present his dissertation titled "Place and Time Processing of Pitch in the Context of Cochlear Dysfunction."

Purdue University’s Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences invites applications for an NIDCD-funded postdoctoral T32 fellowship starting July 1, 2025, or later. We are Excited to share that latest research article from Heinz Lab , "Impact of reduced spectral resolution on temporal-coherence–based source segregation," is now online in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA).

Prasad has joined our lab as a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University. His initial focus will be on developing machine learning-based methods for classification of histology images.
