Professional Career

Chuck currently serves as the Tebbe Family 150th Anniversary Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He is a globally recognized leader in Mechanical Engineering and his pioneering efforts in mechanics education and skill in the classroom have earned him numerous teaching awards. Chuck has received more than two million dollars in mechanical engineering teaching development grants from the National Science Foundation, AT&T Foundation, GE Foundation, Amoco Foundation and Hewlett-Packard. Throughout his Purdue career he has been known to be a friend of students, earning the Special Boilermaker Award, the Helping Students Learn Award and many other accolades. Chuck has co-authored three lecture books that are currently being used in the instruction of mechanics courses in the undergraduate mechanical engineering curriculum at Purdue.

Purdue Experience

Completed a 5-session co-op with NASA in Huntsville, Alabama.

Earned seven H.L. Solberg Best Teaching Awards from the School of Mechanical Engineering and three A.A. Potter Best Teacher Awards from the College of Engineering.
 
Awarded the Charles B. Murphy Teaching Award in 1994, the highest teaching award given by Purdue University.
