Justin Chang
Biography
Justin is a senior in mechanical engineering and is a member of both the SURF and co-op programs. He recently worked as a product design engineer at Apple during the summer and has held postions as an R&D design engineer at Tesla and as an NPI engineer at Cook Medical. Moreover, he has completed three rounds of research with Purdue mechanical engineering, Birck Nanotech Center, and Herrick Laboratories regarding laser control system, thermal management system, and the Purdue Northwest Cooling Plant, respectively. Justin also serves as a teaching assistant for OPP's ENGR 103 course and is looking forward to supporting students to navigate the challenges of engineering professional development.
During his internship with Apply, Justin worked in product design on power-related products used across the Apple ecosystem. In his internship at Tesla, Justin was a part of the Model S and X interior design team, working on projects including sustaining engineering, passenger safety, cost cutting and new feature development. At Cook Medical, Justin worked in the new product introduction team, developing minimally invasive heart surgery equipment and establishing two new production lines.
In his spare time, Justin enjoys swimming, playing instruments, spending time with friends, organizing notes and bothering professors.
